We decided to take the girls to our first Hockey game here in Prescott Valley on New Years Eve. Right when we got there Bernie was outside welcoming all the fans. So we got a picture with him.
We had some pretty amazing seats right in the middle and up next to the glass. The girls had fun banging on the class and cheering for the Sundogs just like the other fans that sat next to the glass.
Since we were next to the penalty box there was an employee running the box and waved the girls over and he gave them a real hockey puck that the team plays with. The girls were so excited!
Daddy and 2 of his girls. Nana was watching Natalee since it was past her bedtime. The girls were on the jumbo traun 3 times because they were dancing to the music and of course they are adorable!
After the second half they laid plastic banners on the ice along with with a toy semi-truck since one of the Sundogs sponsors was a moving company. Before the game, you can purchase these hockey pucks for $1 each and I purchase 5 of them. So after the second half the fans throw these hockey pucks onto the ice to see if you can make them on the banner to get a gift card from a sponsor or if you can make into into the truck you can win $200. After the buzzer rang hundreds of pucks were flying all over the ice. After Brit threw his second puck he yelled, "I made it in the truck!" I was like, "Are you sure? Did it bounce out?" So when the time was up the announcer said, "Let look to see if anyone made it in the truck." And then she said surprisingly, "Oh my gosh, someone made it in the truck!" There are numbers on the puck that coordinate with the tickets you get with the puck. So she called off the number that was on the puck and it was Brits! We were all screaming, all the fans were congratulating us. It was pretty amazing that he made it!
Here is Brit with his winnings of $200! What a game we had! We had amazing seats, two hockey pucks to take home, showcased on the jumbo traun, came home with $200, and had an amazing time together as a family! Happy New Year!
