Weekend In Sedona



Brit and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this past weekend and we thought we would bring the kids along for our mini vacation.  We love spending time in Sedona and we thought we would head back there for the weekend. 



We took the kids hiking Saturday morning. Boy did is start to heat up quick!  We were so glad we left pretty early in the morning.  We decided to hike the Devil's Bridge trail and it was labeled as a "moderate" difficulty hike.  It was pretty tough for Brylee so Brit ended up carrying her most of the way.  Here is Brit with the girls when we made it to Devil's Bridge. This is Sedona's largest natural occurring bridges made of sandstone. The view was spectacular!

Both girls were tired on the hike down so here is part of the hike out.  What a good Daddy Brit is!



We all had so much fun in the pool at the Summit Resort where we stayed.  Kenadee was very disappointed she didn't get to go swimming Saturday night since they shut the pool down for the monsoon .  But despite that fact we got to go swimming three other times.  Since we weren't able to swim saturday night we spent our evening in the game room of the resort. Kenadee and I were the game champions beating Brylee and Daddy in Fooseball and Suffle board. Whoo hoo!  I didn't get many great pictures of all of us swimming since we were too busy enjoying ourselves in the pool.

 

On our way home we stopped in Camp Verde at the Montezuma Castle.  This is an 1,000 year old 20 room high-rise home of Sinagua Indians nestled into a towering limestone cliff. It was intersting to learn of how they managed to construct this and of their way of living.  This was quite the site to see!



It was high up on the cliff.  This must of required a lot of work to build this and for the people to climb up and down to get their food and water.  Kenadee was very impressed!




Another stop we made was in Jerome, AZ.  The famous ghost town.  This is an old mining town built up on the side of a mountain.  It was neat to drive through. Kenadee was disappointed she didn't see a ghost.  She kept asking, "Mom, stop and ask someone where to find the ghost."  It was quite entertaining!  We had so much fun this weekend enjoying the beauty of Sedona, going on a hike to Devil's Bridge, swimming in the pool, enjoying to great food, seeing Montezuma Castle, and enjoying the quaint town of Jerome.
