Day 6- USS Midway

We toured the USS Midway which is a retired Navy Aircraft Carrier.  This ship is one of America's longest serving aircraft carriers.
The USS Midway housed more than 225,000 Navy sailors.  Here is their sleeping quarters.
We got to listen to the tour with a headset.
Trying to tie knots that were used on the ship.
The ship even had its own jail.
The girls taking control of the ship.
We got to see many retired planes that fought for our freedoms.
Brylee and Natalee taking the planes for a test flight.

 Ready for take off!

 Flying a F-16
 These helicopters were huge!

I had to try out the driver seats too!  What a great experience getting to see the hard working conditions that these sailors worked in. They didn't have the conveniences that we have these days.  There were many past sailors working there giving tours so it was interesting listening to their own personal stories.  Pretty amazing! Grateful for this great nation we live in and for all the great men and women serving for our freedoms!
