Thanksgiving 2013

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Chandler at Brit's sister Shannon's house.  This year we wanted Thanksgiving to be more meaningful and for it to be more than just having a meal together and watching football.  I organized something that we did last year with my family.  What we did is we drew a family members name and in secret wrote a letter to that family member of why we love and admire them and also write about a favorite memory we had of them.  As we read the letters being gathered together their were a lot of laughs and lots of tears shed.  After the letters were read, we played a game of family Fear Factor.   We even had a fun craft to do with the kids.  We made a thumb print family tree.  Everyone put their thumb print on a tree to represent a leaf and we sent it to Brit's parents who are serving a mission in Costa Rica.  We had so much fun together and it made for a meaningful Thanksgiving! I am thankful for family!

Brit and Jeremy digging in pies for worms! Not real worms, gummy worms...whew!

Ron and Nick trying to guess the flavors of baby food...Yuck!
Maria and Shannon scooping "real" worms with a fork gripped by their mouth and passing each worm to another plate.  Shannon won this event!
